Burning Wheel were fantastic when they played at my wedding this August. They were just what we were looking for  – a cool and relaxed band with a lot of rhythm!  They were great in the lead up, quickly coming back to all my questions. The night went smoothly and everyone really enjoyed the session – some said it was the best wedding they’d been to! Definitely recommend them to anyone! 10/10.

Cat Stokes, London.

It was incredible! Everyone had so much fun and Burning Wheel sounded amazing. We’d love to come and hear them again!

Colin & Rebecca, London.

I booked Burning Wheel to play 3 nights in Varazdin. The response was amazing: they played to packed houses everywhere they went and were booked for an extra show supporting ‘Regionalni Band’, such was the interest. On the strength of their excellent performances, I’ve been able to arrange for other UK based outfits to come and visit Croatia. Burning Wheel are quality group whose energetic performances left the audiences crying out for more.

Bob Jenkins, Varazdin, Croatia.

I’ve had the pleasure of playing with these guys a few times. They’re great players, great singers and know a lot of great tunes! We were lucky enough to have them play at our wedding and it went down a treat.

Tom English (Maximo Park), Liverpool.

Burning Wheel played at our wedding in the spring of 2011. Having heard them at various venues before, we knew they would suit our wedding and the atmosphere we were aiming for. Once the date and venue was set, Nessan confirmed the bands availability and liaised with the venue to organise equipment and suitable location for the band to set up. The band was there with plenty of time to spare. The ease of communications, their active approach in dealing with the venue and their reliability made this perhaps the most simple and least stressful item to organise for the whole wedding. The music was excellent and enjoyed by the entire wedding party; with plenty of guests commenting on the quality of the band. We would definitely use them again for future parties and recommend them to anyone looking for decent music, and a professional service, for their day.

Ed Wollaston, Hong Kong.

Burning Wheel played at our wedding in the Raquet Club in Liverpool. We both loved the music and it had all the guests up dancing. It really made the day memorable. Thanks again Nessan for all your help and the great music!

Eddie and Faith King, Manchester.

Booked these guys for my daughter’s christening and was highly impressed with their set. Very reasonably priced for such a talented and professional group of musicians and really nice people as well.

Nick Meade, North London.

Burning Wheel played at our wedding in August 2013. They were exceptional.

The brothers played my wife down the aisle, with a beautiful bespoke version of ‘All you need is love’ by The Beatles. After the reception the band entertained the guests with a superb array of songs, interacting with guests in a polite and humorous manner.

Several of our guests commented on how brilliant their music was. Burning Reels really made our day special with their unique style and fantastic personalities. Communication leading up to the event was excellent.

I will be re booking them for my upcoming 40th birthday celebrations….!

Chris Conlon, Corby.

I saw Burning Wheel at the Hemingford Arms, London, tucked into the corner of the darkened bar. As I walked into the dimly lit bar, my first impression was the atmosphere – the bar seemed alive with the vibrant energy pouring out of the corner. Mixing up traditional and modern Irish songs, the guys were weaving a provocative melange of guitar, banjo, bodhrán and fiddle. With my drink ordered and my place at the bar secured, the music washed over me in a wave and for a moment you’re not in the dirt grimed terraces of London anymore, you’re been transported off to Clew Bay and the wilds of Mayo – you can almost taste the salt air and Guiness on your lips and and an urge to sing and dance along springs to mind. The drum is driving you along, making your foot pound the floor in time to its thrumming, the tempo providing the heart beat of the bar, the underpinning of its conversation and laughter.

Then with a shift designed to almost break your heart, the tempo of the songs has slowed. You are now adrift in beautiful balladeering, and being washed slowly out into that melancholy sea. The buzz around the bar is softening as the sheer sentimentality of the music resonates around, couples lean closer and the mood is more reflective. And then you’re off again with the bodhrán galloping us into a rousing crescendo of passion and energy, ending with a ceremonial whisky.

I left that night with a sparkle in my eye and a bounce in my step, and the tunes of generations of our forebears swimming through my head. Burning Wheel delivered us successfully from a wild ride through great music, good craic and good times. Well worth checking out.

Christopher Fletcher.

Burning Wheel were great. Really personable and very professional at the same time. They catered for our logistical requests which included the tricky timing of my wife’s late entrance and some music on the move. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Burning Wheel again or recommend them.
